Hits & Misses
Today's hits include:
The United Church of Christ has literally "launched" a new ad campaign. After their success with last year's "velvet rope" campaign that the unctious networks refused to air for fear of alienating the WingNut population, they have come up with a heck of a new advertisement. It's clever, clean and you can view it here.
Out of the blue I hit a blog with a link to the Large Penis Support Group. My membership is pending approval. It also has some funny stuff.
Radio Donna, a broadcast and internet station out of Belgium is airing a clever TV spot for their station. While the DJs are in Dutch, the playlist is heavily "gay standards" (Donna Summer, ABBA, Take That) You can view the very funny TV spot in English here. There is a "Listen Live" link off the home page and for you voyuers, you can also watch the broadcast station via web cam here which also includes streaming audio
Today's Misses:
TMWIS and I attended a CD launch party last week for a new recording artist named Katherine Schell. She seems like a nice enough person, but a listen to the CD indicates a lack of focus and vision. Sounding a bit like Tori Amos meets Wyndham Hill, were I her, I would consider changing managers and record producers.
Not to mention that the party was a bit on the tatty side. The A & R folks need to lighten up on the introductions, pumpkin, we came to see HER and listen to HER so just clam up and let the music speak for itself. Guests had to endure 15 minutes of blather from record execs and, for the love of God, the redording engineer? Dude, spend the time turing DOWN the volume (she was drasticaly overmic'd and amplified for the small room the event was in) and just let her play.
